Happy New Year!

by Annalise on December 31, 2009

It is New Year’s Eve and we are home waiting for our pizza to be delivered. Yup, pizza, it is an international food. We’re luxuriating in the heat of our kitchen thanks to the loan of a heater from the first floor neighbors while they’re on holiday. Robin is going to hang out at a friend’s house for the early evening and then come home to join us, Dave is laying low getting over the latest stomach bug and I’m just hanging out with my cup of tea and reading until it is late enough to call home. Our most uneventful new year’s eve for some time. Might be just as well as tomorrow isn’t a holiday here; Nepal follows the Hindu calendar Bikram Sambat and so we’re actually in the year …… 2066 local time….

I don’t like the math on that one; where’s my glass?! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! May 2010 be especially kind to you and your family. Cheers!

Happy New Year to the Kathmandu Robertson’s! Thanks for the great stories and photos – I feel like I am travelling with you. That elephant ride was fabulous, by the way :-)
Love,
LeeAnne

Happy New Year to you all! thanks for the great update. Sophie must be on her way back home by now. She’ll have lots of memories to share with everyone there.
Maybe you should invest in your own heater?

I agree with Lee Anne I feel like I am there with you and seeing and enjoying the parts of Nepal I didn’t get to.
While you were eating your New Year’s Eve Pizza I was volunteering at Operation Red Nose. It was a crazy , busy evening. The phones never stopped ringing and at 3:00am we were backed up over an hour getting the teams to the car owners to drive them home.
