Quick update on Chemin de St. Jacques

by Annalise on March 31, 2010

We’re in Espalion after having covered our first 158 km in 7 days. Everyone is well and we decided in the last moment to leave the pipes in storage; we simply couldn’t get the weight down to what was manageable with them so it is just the practice chanter. And given the snow and rain we’ve spent our first week of walking in, it is just as well.

The walk is wholly consu, ing but in the most gentle and tranquill way; it is a lovely experience!!

Photos and more details will follow upon the completion; updates in the interim only.

Good going at an average of 22kms a day but in the snow and rain it can’t be easy. I’m hoping for some sun for you. We’ve got a glorious sunny day today for the first time in ages so I’ve just weeded my raspberry bed and it looks good.

Too bad about the snow .rain. How are the accomodations? I found a web site that has your whole trail marked so i am trying to follow your progress.

as you noticed, we in Europe have snow too sometimes… Looking forward to the pictures! Anyway, I ordered lots of sun in May so you can warm up before you go home again ;)
